App Store screenshot sizes (2026)

App Store screenshots must match Apple's exact pixel dimensions. As of 2026, the required primary size is the 6.9″ iPhone display — 1320×2868, 1290×2796, or 1260×2736 px — and App Store Connect automatically scales it down to every smaller iPhone. For iPad apps, the required 13″ size is 2064×2752 or 2048×2732 px. You can upload 1–10 screenshots per size as .png or .jpg. Below is every current App Store screenshot size, with the devices each one covers.

Portrait dimensions are shown; landscape uses the same values transposed. The 6.9″ set is required and cascades down to all smaller iPhones.

App Store screenshot rules

  • 1 to 10 screenshots per display size.
  • Accepted formats: .jpg, .jpeg, or .png (no HEIC). RGB, flattened, no transparency.
  • Portrait and landscape are both accepted; landscape dimensions are the portrait values transposed.
  • You only need the largest size per family — App Store Connect auto-scales down (6.9" → 6.5"/6.3"/6.1"/5.5"; 13" → 12.9"/11"). Upload size-specific images to override.
  • Each image must match one of the listed resolutions exactly, or the upload is rejected with a wrong-dimensions error.

Frequently asked questions

What size should App Store screenshots be in 2026?

The primary required size is the 6.9-inch iPhone display: 1320×2868, 1290×2796, or 1260×2736 px in portrait. App Store Connect auto-scales this set down to every smaller iPhone, so a single 6.9-inch set covers all iPhones. iPad apps require a 13-inch screenshot at 2064×2752 or 2048×2732 px.

Do I have to upload every screenshot size?

No. Upload the largest size in each family — 6.9-inch for iPhone and 13-inch for iPad — and App Store Connect scales it down automatically. Add size-specific images only when you want to override the auto-scaled version for a particular device class.

What is the iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro Max screenshot size?

1320×2868 px (the 6.9-inch display class), portrait orientation. The 6.9-inch class also accepts 1290×2796 and 1260×2736 px.

What image formats does the App Store accept?

Only .jpg, .jpeg, or .png (no HEIC). Images must be RGB, flattened, with no transparency, and must match one of the listed resolutions exactly, or the upload is rejected.

How many screenshots can I upload per size?

Between 1 and 10 screenshots per display size. The first two or three matter most — they are what users see on the product page before tapping to see more.
